On a warm April night I was invited see to a fab pop up gallery by The Mantegna Gallery, Alan Cumming Snaps located on the rooftop of the Andaz Hotel on the famed Sunset Strip. Welcoming guests was a bevy of paparazzi, after all no proper Hollywood event is complete without a walk down the Red Carpet flash bulbs shooting off.

Teetering high above the glittering Los Angeles city lights, inside the gallery it sparkled with Hollywood stars snapping up the featured photographic genius of Actor Alan Cumming, Neil Patrick Harris and Jackie Collins rubbed elbows with a roomful of other stars.
A delightfully witty man Alan Cumming, had me at hello with this come hither look, has been documenting his life experiences with photographs that come complete with an amusing story of his inspiration. He used a post editing Flicker app “to create square images that are saturated with colors” The results were quirky happy images that delighted the chic crowd. The photograph of Elizabeth Taylor, “Lustrous Pinnacle” seemed to be the favorite swoon worthy photo of the evening.
In keeping with the photographic theme of the evening, photo app Capsule Cam was the photo share party favor, you could down load the app onto your i phone or android and take pictures of the party that went onto a live feed and were posted on the wall inside the gallery and above the pool outside.

My friends and fellow party goers Charles and Maria salsa danced their cares away under the stars, owning Sunset Boulevard for the night.
